Job Description
Who we are
Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
The role
As a Product Manager at Helsing, you will own the discovery and delivery of products that unlock new capabilities for sovereign defence customers. This is a fully-fledged product role: you will identify what Helsing needs to build within your area and bring the company together to deliver it. Your remit spans commercial strategy, go-to-market planning, product design and technical architecture. Working directly with customers, engineers and programme leadership, you will take ideas from concept to prototype and from prototype to production, ensuring every decision is grounded in mission impact.
The day-to-day
Define and steward the product vision and roadmap for your area, translating operational customer needs into prioritised plans that deliver measurable capability improvements for defence end-users
Lead structured discovery and co-creation sessions with customers, synthesising field insights to validate product hypotheses and shape go-to-market positioning
Orchestrate cross-functional delivery across engineering, AI research and programme management, driving products from early prototype to production with clarity of purpose and pace
Shape commercial strategy for your product area, partnering with senior leadership to ensure alignment with Helsing's mission and long-term growth objectives
Define and track success metrics that demonstrate product impact, feeding learnings back into the roadmap and communicating progress with transparency to internal and external stakeholders
You should apply if you
Understand the full scope of product management, from commercial strategy and go-to-market planning through to technical architecture and product design
Have guided teams through the discovery and co-creation of new products, bringing structure and clarity to complex, undefined problem spaces
Learn quickly across unfamiliar domains, whether defence procurement, military systems, AI or industrial policy, and translate that knowledge into sound, well-reasoned product decisions
Build effective working relationships across engineering, research and commercial functions, communicating with clarity between technical and business contexts
Communicate fluently in both German and English, written and spoken, to a professional standard
Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Nice to have
Hold, or are eligible to obtain, a German security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung), which typically requires German citizenship
Have prior experience working within or alongside German government, defence or public sector institutions
